A vegetation fire was reported at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday near Monroe Canyon, near King City south of San Benito County. Upon arrival, firefighters found approximately one to two acres already involved in grass and brush near Monroe Canyon. Air tankers dropped retardant to slow the spread of the fire until ground resources could arrive
