Buffalo 2+ Alarm Fire (1950 Elmwood Ave) 7/19/10

Click Ad for Info Buffalo Firefighters responded this evening to investigate an odor in the area of Hertel Ave & Elmwood Ave. The assignment was upgraded to a 1st alarm for a report of a warehouse fire & B-47 went on location with smoke showing from a 2 story concrete block complex. B-56 assumed command and reported difficulty accessing the building and requested the 2nd alarm to the scene. Ladder 7 reported fire through the roof in a rear step down about 10×10 in size. An interior attack was attempted but B-56 ordered crews to back out & a defensive attack was set up using Ladder 7, Ladder 2, & Ladder 6′s tower ladders. B-56 requested an additional Engine & Truck to stage at Elmwood & Hertel Ave. Crews are still on location almost 4 hours into the fire
