A Colorado Springs Firefighter was injured today, when he slipped about 80-feet down an ice chute near Helen Hunt Falls. Members were getting familiar with the terrain Wednesday afternoon because there was a rescue there last week. Around noon, the Firefighter, whose name hasn’t been released, slipped on an ice flow. He was tossed around a bit on the way down the steep-graded hill. It took crews more than an hour to get him out of the training area, but his injuries are not believed to be serious. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
